Meet our honorary patrons
Sale and Altrincham Musical Theatre has always enjoyed a special relationship with our local communities and that's always even more special when we meet like-minded champions of theatre and the wider arts. People who share our beliefs and aspirations and always get behind the work that we do to promote both youth and adult Musical Theatre across the South Trafford area.

Honorary Patron
Mike Toolan
Mike Toolan is a renowned broadcaster and presenter, who is perhaps best known as a once beloved voice of Manchester's Key 103 breakfast show, and now with a nationwide reach as the presenter of Hits Radio's weekday drivetime show, alongside Gemma Atkinson.
A radio presenter for over 30 years, Mike is also no stranger to the theatre stage and very much at home in front of the TV cameras too.
As a consummate presenter, Mike is also very much in demand as a live event host and alongside Jenny Powell, is the host The Brit Fest (a multi award winning UK music festival) right here on SAMT's doorstep.
Mike’s deep connection to the arts, and the local Sale and Altrincham communities, makes him the perfect addition to SAMT’s family.
His passion for theatre, music, and storytelling aligns seamlessly with the organisation’s mission to inspire and entertain.
Speaking on his role, Mike Toolan said:
“Theatre has always been a huge part of my life, and I’m thrilled to be a part of SAMT as an Honorary Patron. The work they do in bringing people together through the power of live performance is incredible, and I can’t wait to support them as they head towards an amazing 90th year.”
