In The Beginning....
The Society was formed in 1936 as Sale Operatic and Dramatic
Society and our aim was to bring top-quality musical theatre at affordable prices to the local community. Over
70 years later we are still going strong. Our regular performing venues are the Altrincham Garrick Theatre and the Club Theatre.
We produce two shows per year, in Spring and Autumn, presenting a varied repertoire, mostly slanted towards modern musicals
but not forgetting the more traditional operettas. In 2000 the society name changed to
Sale And Altrincham Musical Theatre, (Sam Theatre as it's affectionately known) to reflect the modernisation of the society.
